Why Climate Zone 16 Matters Here
As part of Climate Zone 16 (Mountain), Downieville projects are modeled against cold winters and heavy snow loads, requiring the strictest insulation values in the state — which is why a report written for a different zone won't transfer directly.
Estimated from proximity to the nearest CEC reference station — we confirm the exact zone for your project's address before preparing your report.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the compliance path used in your energy model. Certain prescriptive credits — duct sealing, refrigerant charge verification, air leakage testing — trigger a HERS verification requirement. We flag these clearly in every Downieville report we prepare.
A Title 24 Energy Report is a California-mandated compliance document that demonstrates a building project meets the energy efficiency standards in Title 24, Part 6 of the California Code of Regulations. It's prepared using state-approved software and is required for most building permits involving conditioned space.
At minimum we need the site address, a dimensioned floor plan, window schedule, proposed HVAC and water heating equipment, and insulation values. The more complete your plans, the faster we can turn around your report.
